Baishali’s experience of over 18 years’ spans across public policy, organisation and business development, strategic planning, fundraising, communications, journalism, public relations and training. She is former Director of Development, Strategy, Communications and Academy at Centre for Civil Society (CCS), India’s leading think tank and Founding Trustee of India Institute that promotes dignity, choice and enterprise through innovative research, evidence-based policy advocacy and litigation for free market policies.
She was Director of the Asia Centre for Enterprise (2012-2015), a social change seed partnership launched by Atlas Network and CCS to identify and support individuals and organisations that promote liberal ideas and policies in Asia. She has been a trainer for Atlas Network and Friedrich Naumann Foundation South Asia programs, faculty for CCS Academy courses, and a grants reviewer for Rising Tide Foundation. Baishali is on the board of Afghanistan Economic and Legal Studies Organisation, Kabul, Afghanistan and AGAATI Foundation, San Francisco, USA, and is a Strategy Advisor to Centre for Indonesia Policy Studies, Jakarta, Indonesia.
Prior to her development sector stint, she was a journalist and has served as Editor and Associate Editor for Nepal’s leading business, women’s and lifestyle magazines. She holds a master’s degree from the University of North Bengal, a Think Tank MBA from Atlas Leadership Academy, Atlas Network, USA and is a graduate of Harvard Business School Strategic Nonprofit Management India program.
