Dr Imran Amin is a public policy analyst and governance expert by training. For his PhD, he worked on ‘politics in the practice of governmental power to govern violent conflicts’. He is an expert on politics, development theory, public policy, rural livelihood, agro-ecology, and sustainable food systems. He has over a decade of experience in academics where he has worked on projects funded by the Indian Council for Social Science Research (ICSSR), the European Commission, TATA Trust, Ford Foundation, and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation.
He was part of the team that launched India’s action research-based MPhil program in Development Practice at the Centre for Development Practice, Ambedkar University Delhi. Before joining ISPP he was working as an Associate Professor for Public Policy and Governance at G. D. Goenka University. His areas of research interests include Governance as Practice, Democratization of Knowledge and Education, Transformative Social Praxis, Agro-Forestry, Ecological Politics, and Human Subjectivity.
