Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta

Dr Basavaraju R Shreshta is a seasoned development professional and public policy researcher who played a pivotal role in establishing GRAAM as a respected think tank. Leading GRAAM, he expanded its reach to over 18 states. In 2023, during India’s G20 presidency, he was designated National Coordinator for the Working Group on Delivering Democracy. Dr Basavaraju has received prestigious awards, including the ‘Champion of Cause’ by Tally India and the Nobel Citizen Award by Nobel Citizen Foundation. He authored influential policy documents and was part of the $1 Trillion Economy Vision Group for Karnataka. Dr. Basavaraju initiated the 3PE Certificate Course in India with Cornell University and created courses on CSR Monitoring and Introduction to Public Policy. He has been a faculty for various Civil Servants’ courses and serves on academic committees. A sought-after speaker, he presented papers at national and international conferences. Dr. Basavaraju has actively contributed to corporate organizations, serving on committees and designing CSR policies for leading corporates. Previously, he served as Deputy Director at the State Resource Centre on Child Labour and Head of Projects at V-LEAD. He holds a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Mysore and postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration and Human Resource Management.
