Kalpana Dube

Dr Kalpana Dube, an officer of the Indian Railways Accounts Service (IRAS), has had a long and successful career in Financial Management on the Indian Railways. She graduated with an MBA degree from University of Lucknow in 1982 when women holding a professional management degree were relatively rare in the country. She subsequently went on to complete her PhD in Public Policy from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) from the University of Mumbai, even while handling many tough assignments in the Western Railway.

When she was working to implement a large Indo German project for costing of passenger coach services and workflow systems, that she was also shortlisted at the national level for the Hubert Humphrey Fulbright Fellowship. She combines a rich administrative experience of 38 years with a lifelong passion for teaching and training. She taught IAS probationers at the apex training institute for civil servants at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie. Her industry and diligence at work led to an award of the most prestigious Erasmus Mundus Teaching Fellowship to teach PG students of Public Policy at the University of Yorkshire UK. She was also the Chief of Faculty of Finance at the National Academy of Indian Railways at Vadodara, Gujarat.
